Step 1: Cutting of hardwood

Once you have achieved this take a wet cloth and wipe off as much glue as you can. It will leave you with less cleaning to do later. So, it’s better to clean while you are at it. Otherwise it will be a mess in the end because it is easier to remove wet glue than dry glue and you don’t want to waste your energy over such things.

Step 4: Designing a board

Make a template for the board so that it would be symmetrical on both sides. Purchase a brown paper and draw a longboard on it. Try to remain a little bit under 10 inches at the widest point. Draw with free hand on one side and flip the paper over. You will see the other side when you’ll flip the paper. Now trace the imaginary line which is not so imaginary as you can see it through brown paper.

Step 5: Drying of glue

Once the glue gets dry it will have a little bough on it and may be one side will be little thicker than the other. Use a planer machine and knock down the side and edges to make it look smooth.

Step 6: Using a band saw machine

Finally, put your template on the surface of wood after applying spray. Spray will help your template to stick on the wood and you can cut your wood according to your template. Use a band saw machine for cutting as it is really easy to use. Now just follow the line of your template as it will help you make the best accurate longboards. For detailing use a planar machine just to smoothen the sides and edges. Some of the sides will still not be straight so again use planar machine if required. This following of lines is not an easy task but again patience is the key here.

Step 7: Use of stein and logo

To make it look mesmerizing you can use a natural stein to give the wood its natural color. Apply a logo so that it looks enchanting but do remember that you have still not placed your wheels so choose a place for logo where your wheels don’t cover your logo. This is a very common mistake. You better watch out when you are about to do this.

Step 8: Giving wheels and trucks to your ride

The trucks and wheels are very important part of this board and you can get it from amazon. It is very easy to put wheels on the truck.

First put washer on one side of the truck and then the wheel and then again put washer and then a nut and afterwards tighten the nut with the help of spanner. As far as placement of truck on the board is concerned draw a centerline so that trucks are in line and mark four dots with the help of truck at top and at bottom so that trucks remain aligned.

I drew holes on those dots and inserted bolt heads. As you are using a hardwood so make sure that these bolt heads are long enough to pierce through the board, up through the riser and finally making their way up the truck. Tighten these bolt heads and your ride will be ready.

For someone who is professional this may not be a good board but it works fine for amateurs. There is no rocket science involved. You just have to stay focused and patient and obviously, you will be rewarded in due course of time.
