This one is the most common question which you need to ask yourself in order to choose the perfect board.
An all-purpose way of riding is cruising and carving. The board used for this purpose is designed to make you take wider turns while riding whilst you are hitting concrete surfaces.
Quick sliding with technical tricks is all about free riding. In this, the rider manoeuvres the board while downhill riding. Various tricks are used one after another to control the longboard effectually.
It is the regular type of riding. You can do anything like dancing, sliding, goofy riding and anything you think of doing. This style is inherited from skateboarding and slots in various technical tricks. Anyone whether a neophyte or an expert can try this style. Enjoy it, it’s a fun guys!!
Guys, it’s all about speed, speed and speed. That’s all…
Just ride down the hills at as greater speeds as you can. Maintain full balance over the board while bombing the hills and terrains. You being a beginner should pick up slow speed at first and then move onto higher unless you don’t have tried your hands on boarding tricks.
Now, when you are aware of longboarding styles, let’s get our hands rolling with various longboard shapes.
Depending upon the style you choose, it’s the time to focus on shapes now. All the styles get covered up in two shapes of boards i.e. Directional and Symmetrical. Both these shapes go perfect for every rider whether beginner, intermediate or expert.
Directional: Clear from its name, this board goes into one direction only and the most used directional board is pintail.
Symmetrical: Such boards are perfect for free riding and freestyle riding. These are also called bidirectional boards wherein the front and back of the board looks the same. You can stand in any direction while riding to hit the roads smartly.
Lastly, I would like to say that the choice is yours. Choose from any style which suits you well and the shape you feel is perfect for your body. So grab a nice board to have a wonderful riding experience. Happy riding!!

Board provides phenomenal riding experience if you choose the right flex and length. Potential level and intensity of the board multiplies boundlessly with just right type of deck. It’s true that nice graphic boards attract you but head up and focus on some more things to choose an ideal board.
Pay for the board you feel is truly a blissful item in terms of graphics, shape and deck, of course. Don’t have a shop nearby? Not to worry… Online shopping is one such beauty to make your purchases easy on the go.
VOILA!! Consider these tips and choose an incredible board to have a magnificent riding experience.
Longboarding, a sport where fitness and intensity goes hand in hand. It gained popularity in late 1950s and was crafted to satirize surfing on concrete surfaces. Longboards are like skateboards but are archetypally wider and longer.
Every best longboards has diverse dimensions reliant upon your body shape and style. Usually, a board is 100 cms long. Quite comfortable and stable to ride, longboards pick up greater speeds easily. Due to the added weight, it becomes a bit impractical to use skateboard tricks for longboarding. So I have jotted down some longboarding tricks, in particular. Here is the goldmine of techniques:
One foot is located on the road and other foot is used to maintain balance in foot braking. The same technique works well if you want to place your foot on the sidewalk. Often, boarders use foot braking to stop the board or slow it down while riding.
Most commonly used in downhill racing, it is a technique to decrease the speed of board around a turn. It is actually cumbrous to slow down the speed mid-turn because boards lose grip. Have fun while riding and use this technique to control the speed which is otherwise too constricted to make while racing.
While roving at higher speeds, the technique of carving works great. Usually, in downhill boarding, the boarder ploys his board in S shaped curves to dawdle down. A series of curves is followed, sloping left then right and slowly taking control of the speed as you head towards downhill.
A technique where boarders stand upright on the boards while keeping their arms stretched out. This way the boarder gets complete control over wind confrontation and the board’ speed tumbles down bit by bit. Although it’s a perfect method to slow down the speed, it cannot be used as a braking method. Since air braking is an idyllic approach for higher speeds, it is often used by the boarders.
This one is my favourite. I love downhill riding and use slide braking to stop the board. Let me explain how this technique works. You need to quickly turn the board to stop it, make sure to turn it sideways to control the sliding and the board will automatically come to a halt. Practice makes a man perfect so try slide braking from either the front or the back. For added stability, you can even stop the board by locating your hands on the ground. I would suggest wearing riding gloves or else you will get your hands badly bruised up.
As the name suggests, the rider moves his feet up and down the board deck. To your surprise, this technique basically comes in use for longer boards. Depending upon your boarding level, you can try twisting, turning and jumping on the board to add zest and zing in your voyage.
So guys hook it up and try these easy-to-do techniques of longboarding. Stay tuned for more tips and tricks of boarding. Have a good day!!
You know that your longboard needs a proper maintenance service when the bearings start to make a clinking noise or the ride doesn’t feel as great as it once did. You may also come to know of it just by the long time it has been since you last cleaned the parts of your longboard.
Cleaning the parts of your best longboard and extending its life are kind of part of the whole longboard enthusiast job requirements. So here I guide through the basic maintenance procedures that you can follow in order to get your longboard new.
You are not going to need a lot of things. Most of these are probably already in your home.
Now that you have most of the basic parts disassembled out of your longboard, it is time start the cleaning procedure that actually benefits the quality of your ride.
Now that everything is clean as new, it is time to put them all back into place so that you can bomb that hill in the evening. Here’s how you’re going to do it:
By the word, we can not write more and We would like to share you in detail by the video below: Enjoy it guy,
Now that you have your longboard restored to its former glory, it is time to take it out show yourself just what you’ve been missing these past weeks. Voila!
For an average person who is just getting to grips with longboarding and perhaps thinking about starting longboarding himself, it can a tiresome job to decide how to buy a longboard.
However, if you break down your requirements into simple parts, the choice becomes easier to make. Let’s see what the different types of longboards are and what they are suited for:
There are several types of shape for the deck of a longboard. The shape determines the usefulness of the best longboards for a particular purpose like cruising, carving, bombing hills, etc. The following are the main types of decks:
Pintail: These boards are a throwback to the inspiration behind longboards: surfboards. They resemble surfboards not only in their looks but also in the ride feel. The center is usually broader than either the nose or the tail. They are best suited to carving. Most easily recognizable longboards due to their namesake shape.
Twins: These boards have gentle curves on the nose and tail. They have usually wide decks which remains the same in width throughout. They are your go to longboards if you add riser pads and want to carve. They are also well suited for cruising because of their simple shape. Commuters prefer these boards for the very same reason. They are a Top Mount longboard in a way.
Double Drop: Yes, hill bombers love these boards for their stability. They are the hybrids of drop through and drop deck longboards. The lowest of them all, they scream speed and have an extremely low center of gravity. Yes, they are great! Only thing stopping you from buying them is the astronomical price in comparison to other such boards.
Drop Through: This is the board where the baseplate of the truck is attached in a “through” configuration. Instead of being beneath, it is at level with the top of the deck. This achieves a drop in height and adds to stability. Great for high speeds and control.
Drop Deck: This is the board you get when you don’t get your preferred Drop Through longboard. They don’t have the trucks going through the deck, instead, the deck drop between the wheelbase to achieve a reduced high and increased stability.
Top Mount: Carve, cruise, dance, freeride. These boards are the jack of all trades. They are set the highest because, you guessed it, the deck sits simply above the trucks. No gimmicks. Less stability, more agility. Lots of fun. In addition to all this, they are the least expensive because of their simple construction.
The shape of the board is not the only way in which one type of longboard differentiates from another but it is the most important aspect for sure. It lends a lot of characteristics to the board and decides what the board is capable of doing and what it can never do.
There are several other shapes in addition to the ones listed above (type of longboard). However, all of these shapes are usually derivations of these primary shapes or a mix up, just like our beloved Double Drop. You would do well to choose any of these shapes, but there is only so many things one board can do for you.
At here, we would like to share you more information about Best Longboard Brands
Longboarding has always been fascinating as it gives you an option to ride under the sun or clouds at your own wish. But is it that easy to learn the trick of long boarding? Of course, it’s not… You need to master the art of boarding to keep your backsides off the ground.
In this article, I would call for some tricks of balancing on the long board. Here goes the step by step approach:
Choose an ideal board from three types of available boards in the market. They are usually 5 feet long by 8 inches wide with wheels mounted on the trucks. Grip tape, a surface of the board offers easy stay of your shoes on the board.
Boarding is of course, a fun but experimenting with it can prove to be ruinous. And you should pick the best longboards for beginner, it’s will find out the good longboard for you.
Long boarding, in all forms, asks you to work on your stance. How you stand on the board do matters a lot. Keeping your body face to the right and left foot forward is “regular” position whereas right foot forward and facing to the left is “goofy” position.
Tip: To check your stance, stand straight and fall forward. Now, whichever foot you use to catch yourself is your dominant stance.
Get on the board by pushing your body weight from the back foot to front foot. The key to hold the board is to place your front foot near the front bolts and back foot near the back bolts of the board.
Now stand straight while keeping your weight on the feet. Bend your legs and elbows and keep your arms perpendicular to the ground. Stretch your legs and balance yourself.
Here you need to push off the board with your feet.
Though people having regular stance need to incline and put weight on the balls of feet, goofy stance people put weight on heels for turning right. For left turning, turn-round the technique.
So guys, you are all set to slide, race and cruise through the roads. Wear your safety gear and have a blissful journey.

Longboards evolved from the interbreeding of skateboarders and speed-maniacs. The resulting longboards then changed into various shapes and sizes. One of them was the Drop-Through design that really got off in the 90s. Atom has taken their time to perfect a Drop-Through Longboard that is stable at high speeds and provides a satisfying experience for its customers. Atom Drop-Through Longboard is an attractive proposition, especially if you are looking for excellent stability and grip.
Affordable: The Atom Drop-Through Longboard is on the cheaper side of the price spectrum and offers great value for money. The quality on offer for this price largely remains unmatched.
Longevity: The board is made of 7 layers of ply and hence the board is pretty sturdy in terms of survival. It is made to survive a few bumps.
Strength & Flex: The 7-layers of the ply make this board a fairly strong one. However, more of its benefits are in terms of the great flex. It makes the longboard unsuitable for hefty people.
Maneuvering & Cornering: Due to the great amount of flex and soft wheels rated 78a on the durometer, the board is splendid at Maneuvering. The Atom Drop-Through Longboard is great to carve but is a bad choice for uphill.
Replaceable Components: The Atom Drop-Through Longboard is a cheap board by all means. Though not all parts confirm to that declaration, the bearing certainly do. They are not as free to roll as expected and should be replaced for better performance.
Looks & Styling: The board is available in a number of colors and the design is attractive. Gives a false sense of racing strips. Aluminium-Oxide tape grip is good as well. The board lacks any proper kicks and is hard to do tricks.
Ride Comfort: The Atom Drop-Through Longboard comes with a concave that stretches from truck-to-truck and edge to edge. This provides lots of grip for your feet. The soft wheels are comfortable at bumps and cracks. Not suitable for very high speeds due to a lack of rigidity.
What is this board best suited for?-> The board is best suited for the downhill bombing. You will also like to roam in your campus or in the streets with this board
Is it a flex board or a rigid one?-> This board is made of seven ply layer and hence has a lot of flex to it
What upgrades should I aim for?-> You should aim for a good pair of bearings first. If you have the money, get some better wheels and trucks, in that order
The Atom Drop-Through Longboard is a great board for beginners with some superb abilities that suit beginners. Those looking to do tricks with it will be disappointed and should invest in a more costly longboard. Beginners rejoice!
